With special attention given to Menorca, Geology takes us millions of years back through time, all the way to the formation of the planet around 4.5 billion years ago and continuing up to present day. We discuss each of the major different eras, systems, periods and ages of Menorca´s geological history. We are also shown the different materials which the island is made of, and the most common fossils from each geological era, as well as any clues or ideas we may have about their activity, based on the permanent sedimentary fossilization that formed at the beginning of the island´s existence, around 400 million years ago. |
