    Nº 4.- «Invertebrates» (45 min).
Invertebrates make up a relatively large group. What they all have in common is the lack of a skeleton formed by bones. They can be classified in five different groups. First, the coelenterates, with the jellyfish as the most common member of this group, that we find surrounding the coastline every summer. Next, we have the annelids, which are primarily what we refer to as worms, whose bodies are formed by a series of segments that give them a ringed aspect, hence their name annelid, or ringworms. Then there are the molluscs, very primitive invertebrates that show important morphologic differences to the other groups. We also find the echinoderms, exclusive to the sea as are sea urchins, starfish, or sea cucumbers. Finally, we see the arthropods that have the exclusive feature of jointed legs, like crustaceans, arachnids, and insects. In Menorca, examples from all five of these groups can be found and in this volume we will see many of them represented.
